This is true. My 219 b was originally equipped with a demeter pre, but was switched out to a much better sounding bartolini. The Benavente preamp is a demeter that has been tweeked to Chris's specs.

Zombie thread resurrection here, but anyone know where this green benavente ended up at? Was talking to Brian about it today. This was my first purchase from him and honestly wouldn’t mind having it back if i could find it.
