Bergantino HD 112 or Mesa powerhouse 112 ?

Sorry if this has been discussed already, Im trying to choose a small cab for my smaller practice room. I switch around between various Trace Elliot pre amps through an old Trace VA350 tube power amp ( 6x 6550) yeh I know thats a lot of power for a 112 but thats what volume knobs are for. I long for the good old days when I could go down to 48th street in Manhattan and try just sbout every thing but....

OK settled, Mesa 1x12 scout bass radiator cab incomming, Prefer a 4ohm cab , this should work out well.

Get the HD112. The powerhouse 112 has a really nasal honky midrange due to the cone break up with the eminence speaker, and is lacking in lows. The scout cab is a lot better, but still no where near as good as the Berg, nor as sensitive (more output with less watts).

Where is the un-like button? For tone I would always choose mesa over bergantino for my taste. Lots of experience with both. Just depends on what you like.

I'd have chosen the Berg cab for its tone at low volume.

From what I've gathered, sensitivity of the PH112 (don't know about the Scout) is 105 dB. Published spec for the HD112 is 97 dB. That's quite a difference...in favor of the PH112.

But, where in the response is that 105db spike? I owned a pair of PH 112's for about 2 years. I bought them because they sounded great with the M6/9 I tested them with. Unfortunately, that was not the amp I owned. The heavily scooped response of the M series works really well with the PH112. With an amp with more flat response, they sound thin and peaky in the upper mids. Plus, they fart out pretty quick when boosting the lows.

Just for reference, the driver in the PH112 is an oem based off the Eminence Deltalite 2512/ Basslite S2012. You can view their response graphs to get an idea of what the PH112 response is like.

I would have gone with the Berg, but my amp doesn't do 8 ohm. Hey if it doesn't work out it'l be in the classifieds and Ill try something else

Ok , the Mesa 1x12 scout is here. Played it for about an hour, and it's a keeper for sure. Thanks for all of the helpful replies.
