Bergantino NV610

I am thinking of getting this. I heard that they are superb in low end and especially in clarity (mix wise) with bands.

I currently use a M6 Carbine Bass head
G&L L2000 Tribute

I am selling my Ampeg HLF Pro HLF and Mesa pwerhouse cab for this.

ANy thoughts on this cab and if you think this is wise?

I'm getting one too this week, can't wait to try it out either. I have the following heads I going to test matching it with:

71 SVT Ampeg
Little Mark 800 Tube
Little Mark III

I'm sure the SVT will sound amazing, just curious if I can get a great tone with the Markbass heads with this cab (I've heard mixed feedback).

I do have an original SVT flatback that I sold to replace with the NV610. That cab sounded great! However, it was to heavy for me to practically gig with and also only had a power rating of 300W vs the Bergs 750W. I was always afraid of blowing thoose original CTC speakers!

Bought one a few weeks ago and gigged with it that night. Awesome cab and sounds great with my Eden WT405. Takes a bit of oomph to get it in my truck but wheels around easy with the tilt back casters. Added some oak skid rails on the back. Can't wait to gig with it again this Friday.

I just can't get over what GREAT cabs these are. I use mine with an SVT or Eden amps, and both sound great.

Don't expect massive subby lows, but instead very punchy and clean tight lows and low mids, and very rich and musical mids and a subdued top end (no sizzle, but lots of definition and decent harmonics reproduction). Just an extremely musical, loud and punchy cab that nails the vintage Ampeg fridge sound with a lot more clarity and definition than current Ampeg cabs.

Very portable for a 6x10, too.

I personally think the NV610 will be a big step up from your current cabs in terms of overall tone. I also would say that the tone will be quite different, IMO. The cabs you have been using have massive, warm low end, however the mids seem a bit subdued and the highs a bit harsh to my ears. The Berg will sound warmer, sweeter and more musical overall but is more even from high to low compared to the HLF and Mesa cabs. So, if you are looking to retain that dubby, wide low end, you might be disappointed.

I personally think Berg cabs are the best on the market and would choose the NV610 over your current cabs in a heartbeat...

I had the M6 and it was a great match with all three of the Berg NV's. I don't think you will be disappointed.
