Bergantino or Epifani

The more I think about it, the more I realize I'm just trying to justify getting new equipment even though I don't need it.

:D THAT makes much sense:)

If you dig the tone and performance of your HD410 more than the Epi (again, as you know, totally different tonality), and you feel like spending some money, the new Bergantino CN212 is really something. It has that 'punchy, bright' voicing that many like in the classic 410 voicing, puts out a maximum volume level in the same universe as many 410's, and is much smaller and so light as to be kind of funny.

It is not 'your father's 212'. Things have changed a LOT over the past 5 years with these new 212 cabs. For example, one of the best sounding cabs I've ever owned was the TecAmp s212. Again, very tight, punchy, articulate. However, it in NO way kept up with my 410 cabs (at that time, an Epifani 410UL(II) and a Bergantino AE410). With the AE212, the max volume got close, but the voicing was much wider, smoother and more hi fi (not a bad thing, but surely not a typical 410 replacement). Now, with the CN212, I've found my dream cab.... small, light, a bit better dispersion of the top end around the stage, and every bit the output of my AE410 to cover the loudest gigs I'd ever play.

Just a thought:D

Mentioned this before, I'm currently running an Epi/Berg 2x2x10 vertical stack. I loved the big low end of the Epi but didn't like the scoop. The Berg was plenty agressive in the mids but I missed the big pillowy bottom. Stacking them together really is the best of both worlds.
