i want a good looking and sounding bass for metal and i want it to have a 35" scale any suggestions

schecter 5'ers are all 35" as well as the ibanez BTB series.
schecters are generally stereo-typed as "metal" basses, due to the emg pickups (on pricier models)

ok so im thinking either a esp ltd f105 or a peavey grind 5
any thoughts?

What's your budget? Spector Euro would be boss if you can afford it.

Actually my Reverend 5L would be awesome for metal. It is a very agressive bass strung with rounds and a taper wound B. Through my fEarful rig, the B is ridiculous... The bass also has OMG mode. 3 position switch with single coil, coils in parallel or OMG which is coils in series.

Through my old 100 watts of tube and 15's rig, the grind is awesome though the 15's don't do the B justice after hearing through the feardul...

I've used Ibanez SR500 and LTD D4 both four strings and they've worked well for me. Recently picked up a Spector Q5 and I love it.

what do you know about esp ltd f 105 if anything

Messed with the F104 a while back at a guitar shop. Personally didn't like it, just felt poorly balanced and overall I didn't think it sounded too "deep". If you're wanting a 5 string LTD get a D5 I think you'll like the range and feel. Just my opinion.

I don't know why any bass should be any more suitable for metal than another. I played a Modulus M92-5 with an EMG with 18v active and you could make that thing into anything you wanted it to sound like from a thumpy PBass to a bright Stingray. Look around and might find a used on for a grand or less.

For metal I would recommend a Schecter as I think they handle detuning better than most (I had a Stiletto but lost it in a flood). I have an Ibanez BTB675 which is great and a SR305, even though the SR305 is only a 34" I prefer it for metal.

I use a Warwick Corvette STD 5 for metal. It's a beast.

I wish I had an OMG mode for this bass, might have to look into that
