I'm looking for a multi function external preamp. Not interested in digital units. I need DI, EQ (my bass is passive), and compression. Also wouldn't mind a bit of overdrive. I'm not looking for hard core gnarly overdrive, just a smidge for that ol skool tone. Compression would be set for room and leave and again, nothing too crazy - I don't slap. Finally I would really like an aux in and headphones out option for silent rehearsal, although not having this is not a deal breaker. A Fender Downtown Express was up for sale secondhand and I probably should have jumped on that but missed it. What else is out there that you would recommend?
