It's a standard power cable, but 14 feet long. There is also a 25-footer. This is long enough so I can leave the extension cord in my car for most gigs. It would be cool if amps were furnished with a longer cord, for this reason.

Of course I would be cautious about using the longer cord with really powerful amps, but it seems like it should be just fine for the amps that we URB players typically use.

I recently found supplier of good IEC leads in multiple lengths, so have bought 10 metre ones for all the powered speakers in my PA hire system, as well as my own bass rig. And I gave one to my guitarist so he doesn't have to borrow an extension lead every gig to run his FX board.

I found that one of the best accessopries that i ever had for gigging was a 6' heavy duty "Orange" extension cord. It never failed that i was left messing about afoot or two that that cord was able to fill

Bayou cables sells a 2ft. 14 gauge daisy chain power cable.
One side of the head is the three prong power needed for an amp or computer, the other side is a standard three prong
a/c power head. Put this thing on any good quaility 15ft.
extension cable and "viola", a 17ft. power cable that you can
also plug a 9 volt adapter into.
Best amp accessory.

An extra long retractable power chord is a great idea and I use them myself. I would just check the wire gauge to make sure it's sufficient for the power demands of the specific amp it will be used with! Many computer type cables are only 18AWG, not enough for higher powered amplifiers. Many different gauge and length combinations are available from Invalid Link Removed with 16 or 14 gauge being available up to 10' long.

Second best amp accessory ever: Guitar Center sells adapters that convert a standard 3-conductor extension cord to the retractable type! Then you have some real possibilities. Even though I keep a spare retractable cord in my car, I also keep one of these handy little adapters in it as well, just in case... ;)

I use E-Cord power blocks and extension cords, available from Musician's friend.

They are black, so you don't have that horrible orange or yellow thing laying on the stage, they come in 12 and 14 guage, and also come with a very high quality 3 way outlet block. I always have the 6 foot 14 gauge powerblock in the pocket of my amp bag pouch (Mooridian), and that, along with the standard length amp power cable gets the job done 90% of the time. I leave a 14 guage 12' in my car for the rare occasions when I need more.

Nice quality, and nice that the color allows it to disappear on stage.
