Double Bass Best amp for jazz?

Ed Fuqua - aren't you using the 2-five digital eschew amplification combo these days?
:D Most of the time. I had a gig with two guitar players, one of whom can't turn up because every knob he owns is dimed already, so I brought the Woods and who falls by to sit in? Jamale Deshon (another strong endorser of Eschew Amplification)....I WAS BUSTED!

I really like the AI coda combo for one handed amplification. It never fails me to get loud enough. My fenders sound great through it. I have an old coda-r version, two channels, phantom, basic effects (just a little reverb please) and as I said one handed carry. Add a gig bag and a bass and you are out the door.

Appropriately sized (for your needs) MAS powered speaker and a nice stand alone preamp. If you only use a pickup, then Grace’s Alix is pretty amazing. If you use a mic, buy a Felix and be done. If you don’t want to be invest quite that much, be patient, and buy a used MAS speaker and an AI Clarus or EA doubler when they come up for sale, which they eventually will.

You know what sounds really bloody good? Those Bose L1 line array PAs with a couple of bass bins. You can even plug a Realist or Full Circle straight in and auto EQ it from the head unit and it'll sound awesome with minimal fiddling about.
I put on concerts in my house and just got the Bose L1 Compact to use as a PA for singers but it sounds really, really good for the bass and is becoming my go to amp when I need to amplify the bass. It sounds equally great through an Fdeck into the line in or with the Bose Tonematch mixer. I only use one extension for the bass and that extension fits in the bow pocket of my bass case so I can still do a one trip load in. It is of course a bit heavier and bulkier than my PJ Double Four but it sounds so much better.

I have tried playing through my bose L1 and find great tone but during gigs i get lost in the mix but maybe thats because a couple vocals are going through the same L1 i am in? Thoughts?
If you are used to the direct sound of a bass amp then the more transparent sound of the Bose will take some getting used to on a gig. Have you been told by the band/audience that the bass is getting lost or is it just your perception? I can hear myself better with the Bose, possibly because of the speaker on the floor and the other speaker around shoulder height (solves my problem of 'amp on the floor, or amp on a chair?'.) I have been told that the bass cuts through very well and sounds more natural than a regular bass amp (this is with the Yamahiko pickup).

Good questions it may be my perception and that the noise dispersion from the Bose doesn’t hit my senses the way the amp does but still has the desired effect in the audience another fun experiment I’ll have to give it a try

The GK MB150 isn't the most neutral sounding amp out there. It's 'direct' tone is good and bad. Lately, I've been turning it around and pointing it at the wall when I find the the tone to be too aggressive.
The sound is definitely warmer, rounder and closer to MBOL.
There is a reason it's been a 'go to' for 25+ years.
