Best and worst album art

Two album covers that come to mind that were considered tops for their time were The Rolling Stones Satanic Majesties with the 3D picture on the front of the cover. The other is Santana Abraxas. I think these both won awards back in the day, but I'm not completely sure. There were many excellent album covers from the the psychedelic era of the late 60s and early 70s.

And no one has posted "Dark Side of the Moon" as the best cover ever??

Because it's not. It's good, but there are plenty better. In my opinion (which is always correct) of course.

Van Halen's 1984 cover I would rank among the worst. Also, about that album, there is a wierd abstract photo on the back that looks like bottles in a factory or something. I could never figure out what that is or what it's supposed to be.

I think we should start an internet rumor that the baby on the front cover is Wolfgang.

There is a theme to some (not all) Baja Marimba band covers. I find the ones in the boat to be quite memorable:

I always loved Savoy Brown Hellbound Train. I see Richland 123 posted the front cover but the back (which was an extension of the front) and the inside were pretty amazing also. And great music, also.
