Cool background. It'll take a while for me to get to where you were as a kid, but that's OK by me. I don't have any grand goals here---I'm enjoying improving at something I find difficult, possibly as much as the straight-up enjoyment of playing the instrument itself. (In some ways, the motivation comes from the fact that I'm /not/ naturally talented in some important ways as most of my hobbies/career choices have been about exploiting the places I do seem to have an edge).
