best bang-for-buck desktop synth keyboard for recording

I have been using virtual instruments since I discovered that my new desk wouldn't accommodate my keyboard workstation (!). They sound lame and eat up my CPU and RAM. The best virtual instruments (specifically Roland) are subscription-based now, which is a business model that I loathe and detest. Also, when I'm using these instruments, I am often running my webcams, Sibelius, Neck Diagrams, Reason 10, and a Zoom call all at the same time, which leads to even small samples glitching out. None of this is convenient. So I'm on the precipice now of going all-in and getting an Integra-7. Frees up computer power, and sounds better than any software I've tried. Also has those all-important Roland sounds that you can't get anywhere else unless you get a Roland Cloud account. Which is a hard pass.
I work with people who make music for film and tv and live and die by the quality of their sounds. You hear their stuff every day if you consume mass media. And I also teach this stuff for a living.

Not once have I heard Roland come up as even decent options for virtual instruments, or even discussed as relevant. You're saying they are the best, but that they sound lame. mmmk...

Sounds like you need a better rig to run professional tools that you aren't even considering. Those details you mentioned are some of the context I was looking for from the OP, and would make sense as reasons to use hardware synths if you are stuck in that situation.

If I had a tractor and was looking for tire advice, and didn't mention that I had a tractor, only that I was looking for good options in directional bias ply tires, I think it would be reasonable for someone who was interested in helping to ask why I was only considering directional bias plies. And I would answer if asked. You guys want to argue otherwise... cool. Knock yourselves out.

Seriously guys, relax. I was trying to help. I stopped because you guys don't want my help.

Move on. Do you. You already know better so why keep going at me?
