Best Bass Guitar for Metal

Ditto. I now see why these threads are troll magnets. Even though I am into a lot of progressive metal/djent, the sheer amount of threads asking for the best bass for metal is annoying.

To the OP, run a search, or look up the sticky in the bass section on 'best bass for metal'. If Steve Harris has proved anything, you can make a P bass strung with flats work for anything. At the end of the day it's the bass that feels the best in your hands, tone/sound is a combination of woods, electronics, amplifiers, etc. I'd suggest getting a really good grasp on PLAYING the instrument well on a bass that feels good, then worry about joining a band, but that's just me. If you get the chance, check out the Spector legend series. Great playing, aggressive yet versatile basses.
