Best bass overdrive?

My current favorite for overdrive needs is DCX Bass, but there’s plenty of great options.

I've tried a lot.
The built-in drive on my Fender Rumble is still my favorite.
As far as pedals, I did like the Darkglass B3K a lot, as well as the Way Huge Pork & Pickle (Pork mode for OD).

As always, "best" is subjective.
I can tell you what I do: Joyo Orange Juice into a second Joyo Orange Juice (always on) into a Joyo F.O.H. (always on). Low end for ages, grind, bite, punch, definition, *anything else you consider great* WITHOUT that disgusting farting sound I find in 99,9% of overdrive/distortion pedals.

Rn it would be gup tech t-amp into mbd-2. Mbd-2 is always on at light to medium gain. Together with the t-amp it's giving me a fantastic growl and the mbd-2 reintroduces the low end the t-amp is losing.

Looking for a way the reduce that to one pedal tho.

Someone looking for a drive pedal to add just a bit of grit for the more rocking songs?

I've tried dozens on my quest so far.

Here is what stuck out for that task, in no particular order:

Fairfield Barbershop. That pedal is so good for adding just a touch of drive that people keep it as an always on - Fairfield even offers it in a smaller enclosure without foot switch.

Hudson Broadcast. This one adds transformer magic and is also great for a bit of grit.

Nobels ODR-1. Great pedal, the best option if you want to keep it as cheap as possible.

BJFe Blueberry: This one does something to the mids that works super well in a mix. It's one of my favorite light dirt pedals in the world and one of my personal picks.

Audio Kitchen Fake Plastic Trees: Speaking of favorite pedals, this is another one of my personal picks. It's pricey but it is incredibly good and quite versatile. Gets you more of a cranked amp vibe.

Spaceman Saturn VI: Great pedal to add saturation and a bit of drive.

RMI Lehle Sonic Spark: Even greater pedal to add saturation and a bit of drive, plus magic sparke. Personal pick of mine.

Xotic BB Bass Preamp: Another personal pick of mine. Touch sensitive and organic. It's simple, but it does exactly what I want.

Origin Effects DCX Bass: The most touch sensitive drive pedal out there. Capable of smoothing out the top end, very useful if you're playing fresh strings and don't want too much clank.

This is the way. Best OD I've used for bass.

I use the Rusty Box into the MBD(3), for the perfect mid grind into ultimate Low, finish with the Broughton LPF/HPF pedal.

I'll throw in a plug for this little guy. You get great sounds for not a lot of scratch. The bass and treble controls are brilliant. You can get slight to insane OD ... full gain is massive distortion. I barely use any gain and set 'bass' at noon and 'treble' all the way off. An SP Compressor takes care of any oversaturation garbage. I like this pedal a lot.

DCX Bass. I use it for straight up overdrive, Jive is on the verge of breakup settings so it’s more subtle. If I could only use one dirt pedal out of my current three (Jive, DCX, Civil War muff) it would be DCX. Mind you, any dirt pedal that I use as a “medium” drive would be my pick. I currently like DCX most for that application.

DCX Bass ordered. Got a good deal on Reverb. Hopefully I will love this pedal.

Tried lots of the more budget friendly overdrives from Boss, EBS, EHX and more, and the MXR Bass Overdrive still sounds good to me. Tempted to try the new Blumes now though
