Best Bass under $700 (active & passive)?

I just snagged a MIA Fender Tele, in pristine condition, for $650 - and a friend just got an MIA P-Bass for $500 off Craigslist.

My vote would be for the Fender Mustang bass. I had one for almost a year. I only sold it to help fund my Mesa WalkAbout Scout. It was an excellent bass. In fact, I preferred it over the MIM and MIA Fenders that I had owned in the past. The short scale also makes it a dream to play. I wish I had it back.

Yeah, and Spectors are great basses -I have a Euro LX and I also enjoyed the Euro ReBop but preferred the Euro because of the electronics.
A used Rebop for under is $700 can be common, but a Euro under $700 would be a real steal.
