This guy. My first active bass. Ibanez MC 924 in Polar White
I have an Ibanez Musician from 1983. MC-888. A very sturdy bass, neck through. I don't think I've adjusted the truss rod in ten years and it changes barely a fraction of a mm from season to season. And I'm rather obsessed with keeping my action where I want it at about 1 to 1.5 at the 12th.

Just like mine! I remember it coming with a brown HS case.This guy. My first active bass. Ibanez MC 924 in Polar White
I've fixed a few things on my Ibanez as needed, and had to have it refretted twice I played it so much, so it still looks rather pristine unless you look closely. The case is another story ha. Was in a rear ending incident. The bass was fine.

My $75 Peavey Foundation. At the time it was 1 of 7 foundations I'd owned. Ended out being a gift to a young student that showed promise, and was just an all around good kid. (Besides, I already had another from 1987). Admittedly, I swapped the lightening bolt knobs over to one of the other basses.
I too like the Fullerton RI's.
Mine has been with me since the mid-80's and hasn't had frets in it since the late 80's.
The neck is dated Jan. of 83', and it has such a great neck that I had an All Parts neck modified and shaped just like it. It wears a replacement pickguard because I stole the original one for my white, CV Squier Jazz.

I'm an 83 baby too. I bought an Ovation Magnum III, where I did a lot of sleuthing and narrowed down that it was likely made in 83. impossible to confirm those, but I found many threads, lots of talk from old Kramer employees, and I think I'm correct. I really like the Precision Bass Elite II from that era, and the Aria's. As well as Ibanez and USA Peavey. Lot's of cool, odd, quirky basses from that year.
1983 Fender Precision Special with walnut body and neck. This one was mine for 15 years or so. Great and very rare bass, it was Fender's first active bass and a little on the heavy side, but absolutely gorgeous. I don't miss it because I used the sale proceeds and a little extra cash to purchase my Fender CS Sean Hurley P. Not bad for a bass that set me back $450 on eBay when I took a flier because it looked cool.
I love my '83 "Dan Smith" precision!
