Dave Ranson with Sonny Landreth since forever is incredibly solid.


Cornell C.Williams with Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen is considered more of a New Orleans funk player but the blues runs so deep through that music he's worth checking out.

I was amazed at how he incorporated modern playing techniques into classic blues without being heavyhanded with it.

There are so many great players on the Blues scene and one of my favorites these days is road dog Scott Sutherland. He has been with Tommy Castro/Samantha Fish and many others, just a badass! Same with Tommy's longtime bassist Randy McDonald.

Just to toss some names out that are a bit under the radar, check out Kevin Jenkins with his Alleva-Coppolo backing up Shemekia Copeland. He's played with Maxwell and Enrique Iglesias, and you'll see him in a bunch of Cyndi Lauper and Taylor Dayne videos too. Really nice time feel and sound.



Look up Brad Hallen from Roomful of Blues as well.
