Bass San Diego is simply awesome for a small shop. I've purchased a bass or two there, and just bought an SVT Cab and Head from Chris. My first purchase was a ZON I bought from them in eBay while I was on tour as a hired gun with a well known country singer and Chris made it all happen even with sketchy communication. Literally I just leave my credit card on file with them.
I've bought 7 basses from The Bass Place in AZ and always had good service.
Martin Music in Memphis is another extremely reliable place that keeps my credit card on file.
Atlanta Bass Gallery is where I buy my Alembics. Great service and spot on descriptions. I don't remember the name of anyone there, but I've probably spent more there than anywhere else.
Willcutt Guitars is another place I've purchased many basses and guitars from. Big time PRS shop that knows their stuff and extremely trustworthy!
Thus far, I'd say my very best experience has been with Matt Nowicki at Red Rocket guitars in NC. Superlative instruments (literally the best guitars I've ever played or owned...and trust me, I have an instrument or three!
Interestingly I've met ALL of my best dealers through eBay!
