Best cab for Ampeg svt-3 pro head unit.

Hi everyone, i just bought an american made ampeg svt-3 pro. Im planing to buy 4x10 cab use with my amp. I am very confused. I watched many videos about different 4x10 cabinets on youtube, but many of videos has low audio quality also some of the cabs using for diferent head units. So i am not clear the sound. In my place the music stores dont have bas cabs, so i m going to order my cab via internet. Therefore i wont have the chance to try my amp with different cabs to find which one best sounds to me. Thinking Markbass, Hartke, Ampeg, Orange. Which cabinets give me clearity, warm, punchy and little bit vintage sound. Im using ash maple fender jazz bass. Which cabinets do you use for your ampeg svt-3 pro? Are you happy with your cabs? Whats the pros and cons? Thanks...

Honestly, without trying them first, it's a bit difficult. But to my ears, clarity, punch, and vintage warm all adds up to Genz Benz Uber 410, which I'm sure you'd love. They're not cheap, but they are a whole lot of awesome. Ampeg makes a few 410 models, with the SVT410hlf being very popular around here, but that cab is very "bass heavy", and not known for it's "clarity". The other Ampeg 410 is the SVT410he, which would be my preference between the 2, but it's not as loud as the Uber 410.

This is my Opinion, but it worked out great for me! Please remember that everyone is looking for something different in their tone, and experimentation is the only real way to get to the tone you truly desire. As a matter of fact, I like some of the rigs that are being knocked in this thread. That is what makes us great, the ability to have differing opinions, but it always comes back to making our basses sound fantastic! Enjoy the hunt for new equipment!

Try a couple of Ampeg PN-210HLF with that 3 pro. if you pop the side off (8 philips screws - easy peasy) and remove the horns completely, it changes the voice of the cab to a very woody, growly sound, that I can't get enough of. (Just be sure to turn the horn attenuator to it's lowest setting, as it does affect the signal sent to the drivers.

I have confirmed with Ampeg that the horns are fed by the crossover, and that removing them will not effect impedance in any way.

This rig will handle anything your 3 pro can throw at it, and also shatter the Myth that the 3 pro "Is not loud enough"

The reason I suggest the two 210 setup is to maximize the 4 ohm output of the 3 pro, and also modularity. These cabs are rated @ 550 Watts @ 8 ohms, however the peak efficacy seems to be in the 225 watt to 275 watt range (at least to my ears).

Out the brands you named, the Ampeg and Hartke cabs would be my choices. They're all good cabs, but the Ampeg 410he and the Hartke AK 410 hit my buttons the hardest. I endorse Ampeg and love their stuff but no doubt Larry makes some hot cabs.

Thanks for all replies.

I think svt 3 pro loud enough, its warm sounding nice tube amp. Cabs are important to show amps abilities.(in my opinion)
I was talking a seller to buy his svt 410he before open this topic and reading replies. I coulnt contact with him again, he didnt turn my mails again.

Then after making some research I understood that ampeg cabs dont fit the tone in my head. I thought that for punchier sound 12 speakers should be more useful than 10s.
So I discard to buy 4x10 then I ordered Orange SP212 2x12 Isobaric Bass Cabinet, because it is light, small, easy to carry and has little bir vintage tone, and punchier because of 12 speakers.
But I dont know how its sound clear. It gaves 600 watt at 8 ohm. My head unit only 275 watt at 8 ohm.
Does it creates any problem? The cab will arrive within 4 days. After trying cab and head, I will inform you how the combinations sounds like.

I've never thought of 12's as a punchy speaker, and definitely not more punchy than a 10. Especially the Orange 212, I've played through one a few times and thought it was very muddy sounding and not really that light at all. You might like the sound of it with the 3 pro though.

Let us know how you go.
