Best chair for sit down practice

It needs to be comfortable for hours and comfortable to hold the bass in the best position.
Just thought I'd throw this out there and see if there were any good ideas.

Anything without armrests is best IMHO. I can deal with a 2x4 with four dowels nailed to the bottom as long as it doesn't have arm rests.

I use a drumstool most of the time, as I like to hang the bass low. This stool has a seat like a bike saddle, but a little bigger.

Generally a good stool would be the way to go but if you need a chair one without arms should allow you to comfortably hold your bass.

I searched the internet once for "Guitar chair" or something like that and didn't come up with much. GC sells one that I don't like the looks of...
It would be nice to have some back support.

Not really. If your strap position is the same sitting as standing it won't matter. I wear my bass high so it's the same as sitting.

I use a drum throne as well. It's an old Tama 1st Chair that I've had forever. I will upgrade to a nitro Roc N Soc throne with a backrest one of these days.

+1! I am a drummer and have 2 of these (nitro Roc N Socs) and I could not play without them. Now I am using one for my bass lessons and practicing, but also practicing standing up, of course. I'm 63, so sitting is good! These are GREAT stools and with the backrest, awesome!
