Best combo under $200

The Ampeg BA115 is looking better by the minute. From the online reviews I read, most people swear by it and only a small fraction hated it. I like the tilt back design too.

MF has a used one for $299 but I'd rather pay the full price ($380) for a new one after reading about a few horror stories.

In the end I will heed the advice of most of you that suggested an entry point of $350 to $400 for giggable gear. Thanks a bunch to all.

If you are upping the amount you want to spend and you want to buy new, look at the Carvin combos. You get way more bang for your buck. More watts and you can add an extension if you ever need it/have more money to spend.

Peaveys are plentiful, and cheap on Craig's List.

I bought a TNT 115 at an automotive swap meet (in new condition) for 145 bucks.

It's got some nice features, and works great.

It does not sound as good a my Ampeg B-100R, that I paid 180 bucks for. (Made in USA), but also not so common on CL.

Keep looking in craigslist, as other posters said the old tnt 130 would be what you are looking for. 130w rms with a 15 inch speaker, you can definitely do small venues with it. FYI it weighs 80lbs, part of the reason you see them used for around $150.00

Don't know about the Carvin MB210 but I have the MB15 and its a fantastic amp in my opinion. Even better with the 15" ext. cab.
