Best compression pedal for around $30 or so?

I don't play gigs anymore these days so I'm happy buying budget pedals. I've got a Behringer DI pedal and from what I can hear it is basically a Sansamp in a plastic enclosure. I wouldn't expect it to last long on stage but for home use it's great.

I'm looking at getting a compressor which I will use for both bass and guitar. It seems that in this price range I can get either:

  • Behringer CS400, (which looks like it's a copy of a boss pedal)
  • Nux Mini Core SE Compressor
  • Harley Benton Custom Line CS-5 Compressor
  • Harley Benton Dynamic Compressor
  • tc electronic Forcefield Compressor
I feel like the rest of these are knocking off another pedal but I'm not sure which. Anyone have any insight into any of these pedals? Some of these claim to work with bass whereas others don't, is there such a thing as a compression pedal which is only suited for guitar and not bass?

Well it's not the Tom'sline Bass Limiter. It did nothing but clip at any input level. $30 Compressor seems like a tall order. The square box TC's are repackaged Behringers, but it's a better box. Harley Benton's are repackaged Joyos. I would consider a Mooer-type diamond clone, I've encountered it in the GE200 with good results.
