Best devi ever fuzz for bass?

it depends what you are going for. I haven't really found one that I would use as a regular bass fuzz, but I tend to go with the amp overdrive for live stuff.

I think there is a new vintage fuzz master that is modified for bass. Those pedals are so extreme, I have three now but I have not found a practical use for them yet. They are inexpensive so they are good for collecting. I have a regular Vintage Fuzzmaster and it goes from way fuzzy to over the top fuzzy and it is very gated and all high mid and treble.
I have a Hyperion II that is a Devi design but it was made by Mantic Conceptual. I have discovered three settings that are distinguishable. My favourite thing it does is make a crazy grinding fuzz. It is very strange. You can hit one note and get several octaves if you play softer to harder and if you let a note ring out you get a glitchy tracking octave thing. It can do a fairly regular insane fuzz, and the third setting I have discovered is a totally unusable clicking sound.
Then, intrigued by videos on YouTube I ordered a destructo Noctavia. This is the weirdest one I have. As soon as you turn on the pedal you are hit with a wild and uncontrollable squelch sound and when you hit a note you get an unruly distortion. If you stop playing for even a second the squelch comes back strong. So weird. Fun though.

I'm a big fan of Year of the Rat. It's super subtle, but it's the only one I've used that didn't require extra EQing to retain the low end. Not that they don't sound great- I still love my Don't Fear the Noise!- but some are definitely not fuzzes you can simply pop into your chain. Ruiner is one that's geared toward bass. I think Dwarfcraft just did a new demo for their version. I'll post it if I find it.

i would like to try the vintage fuzz master and the ruiner too, they don't seem to be at any shops in LA though
I have never seen them in a store. Even a store that is on the dealer list. I have contacted a couple shops in my area by email asking if they will be stocking any Devi ever pedals and had no reply. The three I have, have been ordered directly from Devi before she sold the company.

Is there a particular reason why?

Devi had no real knowledge of how circuits work. She basically took an existing circuit and messed around with different components at random until it did something. Sometimes that made for semi-cool designs but it also means the pedals were unreliable and prone to odd behavior (not in the good way). I would never use any of her stuff.

The fuzz with the photocell was a cool idea though.

Even still, as I already said, I wouldn't use it live but they are cheap and fun to collect. But they are pure noise. You would have to write new material around the noise because they don't really apply well to songs that aren't structured around a glitchy and uncontrollable squelch.
