I’m glad to say I’ve had the rare in the US opportunity to have seen both perform live; just a few years before her tragic death, Fairport had a brief reunion, and I caught them opening for…get this….Weather Report, Alphonso era.
I’ve seen Jacqui twice in later years…with a reformed Pentangle, then as a duo with John Renbourn, the Pentangle guitarist not involved with the get-together.

I'm a huge Johnette Napolitano fan. I even named one of my cats after her! But to call her the best female vocalist in rock might be stretching it. Even calling her the best bass playing female vocalist in rock... There's Adele and Sheryl Crow who also play bass if they also fit your definition of rock.

I dunno. Not really disagreeing with you, but I'm not sure I agree whole heartedly either.

But she is very very good. Easily high in my top 10.
