Please do elaborate on impact of string characteristics(materials or combinations thereof, winding types or shapes etc, and many more details that will give texture/feel) as how it would lend to giving crisp highs, wider mids and warmer/fuller lows when playing jazz & gospel music in a smooth fashion that's easy on the fingers

Did I post this question in the wrong place? Apologies... but what does "the DB side of talkbass" mean? Really interested in suggestions on would work for this bass guitar based on all else that was mentioned. Thanks!
DB means double bass, that huge thing that looks similar to a giant violin standing up, also called the "doghouse" or upright bass.
There are two major areas on talkbass, the bass guitar side and the double bass side.
By accident (this can happen quite easily) you got into a double bass forum and I couldn't resist to comment, since the only 6-string double bass is the baroque violone which was played with gut strings that don't sound very crisp. A little joke for the DB players...
