Best Jazz pickups for stoner/doom metal?

For years I always used humbuckers and active basses...years.
A few years back my wife got me a MIM FSR ash bodied maple boarded jazz as a gift. Amazingly resonant bass, that I got a deal on some Nordstrand NJV 70's wind, so I put em in there. They made the bass come alive & were much lower output than the stock pickups. Way more open, I could hear the actual bass more, it became more responsive and overdrive became clearer and smoother. Obviously there was the volume and gain drop so I simply increased both on the amps and pedals. I believe Carey said they were like 7.3k ohms and had les winding/wraps. So, in my limited picup knowledge I'd say that's my reference point. I got a newer ric that had higher output pickups that I also swapped for lower output pickups to match vintage specs a bit more.

I've been SCOURING interwebs and threads trying to find any info on these Nordys used with metal of any kind. Every demo seems to be slapping or smooth jazz/R&B and it's really annoying. Nordstrand will make me a set with a 9.5" radius which is great but I am having trouble decided between '60s and '70s. Great to finally find a specific recommendation for the '70s, but I still have some reservations: my bass is a Geddy which has the '70s more trebly bridge route as well as a maple fretboard. My OD of choice is the Rusty Box which is on the bright side as well. Thinking the '60s might be better, but I want to have an articulate and not-dark clean sound as well.

That would be fantastic! Wednesday early afternoons 1-3:30pm are best for me as that's the only time I have a babysitter watching my two kids. Might be able to stop by Friday evening around 6:30pm on my way to practice space.
