Best Lightweight Amp For Gold Tone Microbass

Did you ever find the amp you were looking for?
I spent a bunch of time with my 2 GT basses at Long & McQ on Saturday with the same question. Finding the right mix of volume, tone, portability, affordability is tough. I was hoping for something in the $600 range but didn't find it, the Traynors weren't loud enough, the Markbass too pricy as was the GK, which on balance is probably the best replacement overall. Helpful salesguy suggested I look upstairs at the 2-input acoustic amps and find something with a bigger speaker. I have to say I really liked the sound of the Fender Acoustic 200 with the GTs but I wonder whether they are really suited for basses.
For now I'm stuck with my heavy and overpowered Orange combo which is fine, just means I need to have a car and make 2 trips...
