Best lightweight bass under 600$

I'm the guy making the CertainBass basses. I use basswood bodies. The P basses are 5 ot 6 lbs and the Jazzes are 5.5 to 7. Basswood is thought of as a cheapo wood, but it is a very nice tone wood. I use it for the basses I make for myslef. My eBay handle is BikeBassNut. I only sell on eBay and I can only make abot 3 basses a week. Check out my listings and feedback.
Peace,
David

Hi; new to the forums, and a little of a necro-post. I second on certainbass. I've been in two bad car accidents that tweaked my back something awful; I bought one of his basses to replace a Fender p-bass I'd sold, and it's nice and light. Mine's an alder, but he primarily uses basswood, which is a little lighter still. All in all great bass for the $

The Bass Company (TBC) basses are chambered and very light. I think my TBC 500M weighed under 7 pounds. Played good and sounded good. I had a bunch of problems with the neck screws coming loose, but everything else was good.

+1 I have 17 basses and my Ibanez SRX505 (basswood body with a maple top) is by far the lightest, can't be much over 7 lbs.
