on a more serious note, i'm always surprised you don't see more metal bands using stingrays.

cos metal bass is so boring that nobody plays it for long enough to find a suitable bass?
I think (although I could be wrong) he may have played it in the infamous video that was filmed in Poland that ended up getting them banned from the country. Search youtube and thou shalt find.
Basically, anything works for metal. Except upright basses, but who knows.


1. Take your #1 bass.
2. Put a strap on it.
3. Put it on your shoulder.
4.Plug it in an amp.
5. Play a helluva metal riff from it.

Wrong answer, Upright does work for metal(yes maybe it's rare) I even sawn a whamola in a junk punk band so what could happen!!!! I play a ministar when i jam with metalheads and punkheads.... So here is the......

I'll throw in another option... I have enjoyed a few Spector's for cutting through a dense wall of distorted guitars.
