Best Modern (or Modernized) Christmas Songs

My girl is all about Christmas music after the pumpkins get smashed. But instead of an onslaught of Burl Ives and Bing Crosby (or whoever else), I'm hoping to find some more modern Christmas songs for this season. Christmas music doesn't have to be all bad/monotonous/boring, what are some of your favorite modern (or modernized) Christmas songs?

Here are a couple good ones that come to mind:

Dropkick Murphys - The Season's Upon Us

And of course we can't forget Manheim Steamroller Christmas or TSO either :)

I once went to a Mannheim Steamroller show. It was so exciting, I fell asleep.
Not for me, I guess.

Not exactly modern, but just about any of the xmas tunes by Chet Atkins works wonders.

All the modern stuff that comes to mind might not be, um, appropriate.

These albums are awesome :

Profits from the latter go to SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests), which is pretty awesome.

Well what are some of the inappropriate ones?

D*ck in A Box-Lonely Island

Santa Claus Has The AIDS- Tiny Tim

Merry F***in' Christmas- South Park

Christmas at Ground Zero- Weird Al

A Gun for Christmas, or C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S- The Vandals

Give the Jew Girl Toys- Sarah Silverman

Father Christmas- The Kinks

Homo Christmas- Pansy Division

F*ck You Mistletoe- Kyle Dunnigan

Just for Starters... :)

I like Aimee Mann's One More Drifter in the Snow. especially this track:
but I'm biased....have a longterm crush on AM.

I also got the She & Him Christmas album, but didn't dig that one as much...but it's an option if you want traditional with a ton of reverb...

Fairytale of New York - The Pogues (w Kirsty MacColl)

I like the Blackmore's Night Christmas album (Winter Caroles). Not exactly modern (since it is medival-styled music) but it is different.

I also like Wintersong by Sarah McLachlan, some classic tracks but all done a bit differently. Her cover of Gordon Lightfoot's "Song for a winters night" is truly haunting.
