This is true, but when I first got my Ric I put some DR .45-.105 strings on and my bridge piece shifted maybe a 10th of a millimieter, but that was enough to make a "rip?" in the paint under the bridge. That's why I decided to buy the Hipshot bridge (+ the palm muting issue)

I am interested in the Hipshot detuner/extender. I had thought it was only an option when ordering a new bass (like a Carvin) but now I'll look into adding one to my 4003.

What about chopper tape shielding the internal cavity’s n pick guard? It really helped me out with the buzz n humming and gave me the ability to turn up my pedal settings and EQ for a little bit more defined tone with out hitting all that feedback and buzzing right away gives me a little bit more headroom

both pick ups are taped I just don’t have a picture of it. It’s a cheap mod and I’d say it’s worth it , super easy to do ur self

While the Zero-mod thumbrest does sit directly over the neck pickup, I find it quite easy to play over the bridge pickup with my thumb on the Zero-mod. In fact, I have a Treble Bezel with a built-in thumbrest around my bridge pickup and my thumb still gravitates to the Zero-mod (I know...probably bad technique...)
