Best Over Drive pedal for…..

The Source Audio Aftershock is a simpler dirt pedal that's got overdrive really well covered.
I woud choose one of the Muff engines and change the treble and bass options to suit.
The Bass overdrive engine is pretty dynamic and versatile too, one of the best Bass overdrives I've ever used - period.

This is a good shout: you can pretty easily replicate the suggestion provided for how to do this with the 4 On The Floor (HPF/LPF/blend) and it’s a lot smaller.

There’s the other advantage that you have the choice between the Aftershock, LA Lady, and the Kingmaker (they’re all the same pedal) to find the best deal.

I always recommend the Damnation MBD haha sorry. But it's just versatile and the low end stays fully in tact. Actually adds a little. Or maybe a pork loin..

Not exactly the same thread again, I’m looking for a pedal that will give me a fat, slightly gritty low end, and a clean high end. I play fretless exclusively, and I would love to have clean mids and highs, and a bit of grit in the lows. Does such a pedal exist?

I really like th Genzler 4 on the floor and think it might fit the purpose you describe. The main advantage of this pedal, besides just sounding really good, is the ability to fine tune which parts of the frequency spectrum get distorted and which parts pass through clean. Perhaps worth a look.

This is a nice concept indeed. For the purpose of this thread, the low pass with the 1 kHz minimum frequency might not fit the bill.
I might still get it as it looks really promising.

Hamstead Subspace can 100% get where you are wanting to go.

Set the EQ to pre-drive. Push the bass and roll of the treble a little. You can then use the tone to roll off more high end post drive if you need.
The clean blend is a pure parallel signal with no filtering so will give you all the clean tone you need whilst layering in the overdriven bass frequencies.

A lot of the other blend and crossover pedals mostly focus (and often exclusively) on clean bass and distorted highs/mids, which is the opposite of what you are after.

Ashdown Double Shot or Triple Shot can sort of do this as well, though you have less control/flexibility, and those pedals can be a little noisy.

The Darkglass B3K could actually be a good option too. Grunt switch activated, tone rolled off, and balance with the clean. Though the Tone control only cuts down to 3kHz.

That is how I would describe Aguilar Tone Hammer Preamp with AGS on: fat lows, slightly gritty, and a clean highs.

I woould second this - i never cared for od pedals as they always end up with the grit being too fuzzy for mr. the genzleer controls let you filter out the mud on the drive side, then blend in enough clean signal to fatten up the bottom end.

The Xotic Bass BB is also worth a shot. I love that pedal. Dime the gain and I think it gets you where you're trying to go.

Maybe the Germanium OCD.

You could easily do that with Analog Heat. It has 8 distortion circuits and a 7 way filter along with EQ and blend. It’s not a pedal, but it has two control inputs that can take foot switch or expression pedal.
