They all sound the same to me. One pickup, one tone control. Not much variance if you ask me. The only one that is remotely unique to me is Entwistle's P on "Live at Leeds."

Entwhistle ( he was gr8 ) has so many processing features attached to his bass sound like distortion, wah, flange, processed compression, all different preamps, tubed sounds, solid state sounds, equed, before and after the fact that's why his sound is different but I know you knew that.

I'd credit Jim Siegel at "The Outpost" for the recorded sound. The guy is a genius.

For me, my absolute favorite P tone was Tony Bono RIP (my favorite bassist of all time) of Into Another (my favorite band of all time) on Ignaurus (my favorite album of all time):

This was the case later but on "Live At Leeds" had had the P and lots of Hiwatts, some of them running the lows, others highs. If that's processed then OK.

What about Geddy on Working Man - people always associate him with his Ric or the J-bass (or the wal and steinberger in the 80's) but he recorded their first album with a P-bass.
