Best pickguard colour for Sonic Grey?

My Sonic Grey Fender USA Pro Jazz bass came with a parchment colour pickguard (which I find a bit boring). In addition the bass must have been on display for a while near the store window as when I removed the Fender USA sticker it left a visible mark whereas the rest of the pickguard must have gotten a bit sun bleached?

Sonic Grey is a funny colour to match with a different pickguard, (other than black maybe?). It currently has a red tort pickguard fitted which I had from an earlier MIM Jazz I had owned. The red tort doesn’t seem quite right as the Sonic Grey is almost a light blue in colour.

What colour pickguard would you suggest? I was thinking possibly a black marble?

I do like this pickguard but I can’t find out exactly what colour it is and from where?

Yeah that’s nice. It may just be black as some of the pearls in black are silver grey and they can reflect what’s in front on bright light. It would take your bass to the dark side nice.

here’s one of mine dark grey tho’ and you can see the silver reflective bits. But that one you showed might be blue
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sidebar: I always thought that a bass like this:

would look good with "clown barf" pickguard. In particular, this material:

But I've never found any clown barf this good. If I ever did find some I would buy a new surf green bass to sport it.
(Thanks to Frank Ford for the pic.)
