Best Pickups to go with an Audere Preamp..

Hey everyone, I am in the process of building a bass and I wanted to get everyone's opinion on what pickups would go best with an Audere JZ3-VB-3B

I want to get a pair of Duncan Basslines (either SJB-1 or SJB-3) or a pair of Fenders but I don't know which would give me the best sound

What do you think?

For my two audere equipped jazz basses that I use live now, I'm very happy with Dimarzios..
I play in a classic rock band and these Auderes and DMs give me anything I need for a very wide variety of music.

In a maple necked jazz with the A preamp with a blend pot and also the mid control I use Dimarzio Js...These pickups have balls and are dead quiet...see reviews here for this one...These are not the sweet single coily sound, but in a loud band these pups are killer.

In the rosewood necked jazz with the vol vol hi/low pots i recently switched in Dimarzio Area Js...These are killer....dead quiet humbuckers also and very single coily vintage sound (to me)..I love them..better than the Js actually, but the J's are perfect for some heavier stuff...This is the only neck position J I have been happy with just on by itself, for a very long time...

both these pu's are great sounding and versatile as hell with the auderes.

I haven't bought the Audere yet, but that LPB Jazz you sold me has a set of Nordtrand NJ5S's waiting to go in it once i have all the parts I want for it.

Yeah, I was going to just use the neck and part out the rest, but I decided it was too pretty so now I'm keeping it. :p

You only gave 2 different options. I've used EMG's with Awesome results every time.

Remember that Audere Preamps cannot work with active pickups (because they use DC coupling - pickup to the preamp).

BTW, I have a Nordy VJ5 with Big Singles and Audere JZ3D, and it works nice! Is a very punchy and aggressive tone...

EFS

EFS,
Classic 4band, you can, but then again they are my favorite of them all. with the other pres...like the jz, requires modification, for active EMG's, although some of the Z modes are useless.

I have Duncan Basslines Vintage PUs in my '91 FoJ Jazz with an Audere JZ-3 and it sounds incredible. Still sounds like a Jazz but with vastly more tonal flexibility.
