Best Punk Bassist?

so latley a few of my friends and I have been having a debate over who is the best punk bassist. while punk is not known for its musicianship we still decided it was worth asking. so we asked around our local area and the 4 biggest names are:

Dee Dee Ramone (The Ramones)

Mike Dirnt (Green Day)

Paul Simonon (The Clash)

Krist Noveselic (Nirvana)

so which of these do u think is the best? note: dont pick based on how much u like any of their music, pick the 1 u think is the best bassist period.

Paul Simonon is my answer.

Matt Freeman is up there, too, and while Noveselic is a pretty good bassist, Nirvana was far from punk music (at least by the context of the other bassists).

i forgot about matt freeman. we should have had him in there, but appently nobody we asked said him. and i'd consider krist a punk bassist. he learned bass by playing punk songs, nirvana was a kind of odd punk band when they started so i'd consider him. nice picks by the way

Please to explain your definition of 'best'- do you mean: made most albums, made best/worst albums, has largest balls(literally)- what? What constitutes 'best?' 'Favorite" is far easier.

Mike Watt, Daryl Jenifer, Steve Hansgren, Klaus Flouride, Karl Alvarez, Rob Wright, Eddie Spaghetti. I actually got to jam with Karl Alvarez when he put an ad in the paper looking for drummers. He seemed kinda bummed out, said he hated working at the post office and hoped playing music would be his out. He was actually wearing his postal uniform when I met him. Nothing ever came of it, I never got a call back. Cool enough guy though.
