The person who owns the bass answered and say that they relieved the tension on the strings prior to adjustment. Once again, while it is a good practice to relieve tension before adjusting the truss rod, it is most certainly not a situation where, "if you adjust under tension, your truss rod will snap".Rockhewer, was the truss rod adjusted under full string tension? Not sure if I saw that answered previously but I am curious.
... agreed.while it is a good practice to relieve tension before adjusting the truss rod, it is most certainly not a situation where, "if you adjust under tension, your truss rod will snap"
There is a factory in China that produces this trussrod now.The best I have ever seen were these titanium rods from KTS. Sadly they stopped making them. View attachment 4115451
Made of titanium? Please provide details about them if so. Regards. There is a factory in China that produces this trussrod now.
The company is a client of a friend of mine. Here is the product descriptionMade of titanium? Please provide details about them if so. Regards.
Very interesting but he needs to look at the quality of the KTS ones and realize that I had purchased the KTS for $60 USD each. The biggest issue is the quality I see in the photos. If he can at least match the quality of the KTS he will be a step forward. The company is a client of a friend of mine. Here is the product description
[Product Name] : Titanium Alloy Guitar Neck Adjustment Rod (Two-way Adjustment)
[Material] : Titanium alloy
[Advantages and disadvantages] : light weight, high strength, good toughness, disadvantages: because of the high price of materials, mostly belong to the high price of products, which is the biggest fatal injury of titanium alloy can not be carried forward.
[Product Description] : Titanium alloy iron core, the main production countries are Japanese companies, most are sold to Europe and the United States and other handmade guitar, the price is more than $120.
Because in China, the consumption of bass guitar is relatively small, so it needs to be customized. The following picture shows the specifications of the electric guitar

I can help you know something about this product. In China, the price is always in direct proportion to the quantity.Very interesting but he needs to look at the quality of the KTS ones and realize that I had purchased the KTS for $60 USD each. Here is the benchmark for quality. If he can achieve this then I would acquire one or two for evaluation.I can help you know something about this product. In China, the price is always in direct proportion to the quantity.

There are many such parts factories in China, there are Chinese factories, there are Korean factories, different materials have different quality.View attachment 4152599
Those look nearly identical to the LMI rods, so much so that I assume they were made in China.
Fine if you only need the rod to work one way.I'm curious why you are interested in a titanium DADR truss rod? That seems like a waste of money. Titanium is expensive as a material, and there's more labor cost in machining and welding it.
If you really want light weight, go to a single rod SASR design, like a classic Fender or Gibson. A steel or stainless SASR will weigh equal or less than a titanium DADR. A SASR rod in titanium will be half the weight of a DADR titanium; 1/4 the weight of DADR steel. A SASR rod in 7075 aluminum will be even less than that.
And, with a single rod design, you can build in a higher mechanical ratio. So, it can apply more force to bending the neck, with less torque on the rod and threads. Less chance of snapping off the rod.
Fine if you only need the rod to work one way.
For the most part it is the increase in strength to weight. However welding and brazing is more difficult. So it depends where you consider your potential failure points to be.I think the use of titanium is for strength, as opposed to weight, assuming titanium is stronger than steel.
but what is the full description?
