Best Solid state bass head?

Do a search on here , there is alot of love for this great little head. a review thread , settings thread and club are also on here. fantastic amp, cant say enough good things about them. i am using mine with a Jazz and a 2x15 Trace-Eliott cab and love it.

Thanks man, I knew about Thomann. But I wanted to check from the USA because, the prices here at at least 2 times as the USA prices. yeah, is quiet quiet expensive here, for instance a Markbass CL 300 is lalmost 4000 dollar here in Norway. the same for the SS heads. But I will check with Thomann and DV247 anyway.

First, there ain't no best. :) That being said, I think the Thunderfunk TFB750-A must be the best amp I have ever owned/tried quality wise. It just had an amazing quality. I sold because it didn't really suit me, but it does warm and clear extremely well. I bought direct, and even after customs it was a good deal. Dave shipped it ready for 230V.

I havent perused the entire thread...

But have you thought about an old Kustom head?

I've used a late 60's Kustom200 with an almost as old Ampeg 2x15 and its sound is awesome.

I generally like pairing old heads with old cabs.

Other than my tube head, the only other heads i have used with that 2x15, and both have sounded great, are a Sunn Coliseum and a GK 400rb (early attached power cord version).

Good luck with your search! Just be careful not to get something TOO powerful. If i had a nickel for every time some kid blew the speakers on a vintage cab with an old Peavey amp (i'm lookin' at YOU Firebass700)... :ninja:

Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 is an excellent SS head

Superb build, tube preamp, 900w, quiet DI, under 5lbs, and gets everyone's attention. Best choice of an SS I've made!

No doubt that's a great amp, but I wouldn't consider it SS. The preamp tube makes it a hybrid for me, but thats just my 2 cents.
