Best strings for classic Precision pick sound?

So I'd like to set aside one of my basses for playing strictly with a pick, and I figure my precision would be good because you always see punk and punk/pop guys using them. I'm looking for that Blink 182/Green Day sort of sound. I"m thinking Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys, but I wanted to get some opinions before I spend the money.

Besides Rotosound SB 66's, of the brands I'm familiar with, I'd rank D'Addario XLs as the brightest, followed closely by Ernie Ball Slinkys for nickel plated roundwounds. Both sound great on a P-Bass IMO.

My personal favorite nickel plated roundwounds are GHS Bass Boomers, but they're not nearly as bright as XLs or Slinkys, IMO. They do have more happening in their low mids, IMO and they also sound great on a P-Bass.

Not real familiar with those bands (early '60s are more my style), but... I once had EB Hybrid Slinkys on my '78 P-bass - for about as long as it took to get the flat wounds I wanted (I'm not a round wound kind of guy)... But, I will say; for rounds, on that bass, they didn't sound bad at all. In fact, I usually put Hybrid Slinkys on any bass I buy. They very seldom stay, but they're a nice string to start my search from. However, if I was a round wound fan, they might stay on a lot of my basses. And, as you can see - I play my P-Bass with a pick, too...
