Double Bass Best Strings For EUB Pizz Style ?

I'm not going for fast decay. But rather a more realistic decay. My EUB has a lot of sustain so spirocores end up sounding like I'm playing an electric fretless bass.
While the same strings on an acoustic DB decay nicely.

I hear you, I have own EUBs since decades and have faced the same "problem".
FWIW, I've settled on a set of D'Addario Preludes.
They have the right balance of warmth and clarity for me.
They're basically an orchestral string, so they don't growl and sustain like crazy.

I just got a Stagg deluxe EUB at a very reasonable price because it had a crack issue on the body (but I epoxied it and good to go). I just bought a set of Zyex, yet to come, but I'll report once I have them on.
