Best tribbey?

I played a m-2000 at a guitar shop a few months ago and thought it might have been the best over all feel/sounding bass I've ever played. I've played (not owned) rics and p bass as awesome as those are I felt this is right there. I play in a down tuned heavy rock band and active pups are looked down on but this guitar has a nice warm low end. Was just wondering if the other tribute models are just as amazing. Don't see these around a lot and it's different which is cool

Oh those Tribbys!

One fine day in 2007, I found myself in my favorite bass shop, and tried out the JB-2 Tribute. It was my first G&L instrument, and passed through my hands twice. Since then, I have gotten a trio of American JB-2s, two of which I still own and gig with as my main players. It was still about how that first one just felt so right, in my hands. It still is: A recent GAS attack was quelled with a bit of JB-2 therapy, although I will still probably acquire what I was looking at (non-G&L instrument), as my gigs and their attendant needs evolve.
