Best vegan sausage for metal?

If we were meant to be plant eaters we would all have little chicklet teeth........but we don't, we have incisors for a reason. I've tried "veggie burgers" , there nasty. A sausage has the skin of an animal, that's what sausage is. So a veggie sausage isn't really a vegan sausage at all, its some other sort of thing. I believe a veggie burger should be correctly identified as a veggie patty......because that's basically what it is.

So to answer the OP........it doesn't exist. metal or no metal

Soyrizo. Yes, it exists.

My partner has some way of making soyrizo using sundried tomatoes. I could ask her if interested.

As for vegetarians eating fake meat, I've been vegetarian (not vegan) since April 1984. For me, veggie products is not about eating something resembling meat, or missing meat, and much of what's sold is just plain gross and in my not-so-humble opinion, pointless because it falls so short of what it's trying to pretend to be. But there is a convenience aspect to a veggie burger or dog. You can put them on a bun. You can cook out with the rest of your family. Some of them taste pretty good (not the crap that's trying way too hard to taste like bacon, or fish, or crab, etc.). With veggie sausage, I can make a passable sausage and peppers sammich.

So, that being said, I used to follow this recipe. Only reason I haven't lately is because my poor partner has some drastic food allergies, so we avoid having certain things in the house. But they weren't bad; even my son liked them, and he's pretty finicky (and not a vegetarian).

Edit: should have mentioned, too, that one of the best substitutes for a burger is still a grilled portabello mushroom cap. They can be damned amazing.

Maybe it's just me, but I have this niggling feeling you're trying to take this thread in a direction it really shouldn't be going...
Carry on.:D
No LOL first one was a serious question I have about vegans and if you're asking "either or" it has to be the "either" surely? Second was a genuine vegan sausage how I see it :) I see you're point :roflmao:

Either or = Spit or swallow

Seitan sausage, of course. You can use it to strike fear in the hearts of the trendy gluten-free (seitan is essentially 100% gluten.) I have much sympathy for those with Celiac disease, poor folks, and none whatsoever for the trendy gluten free that are not actually allergic.

Hail Seitan!

I've had some seitan bratwurst that were frankly better than "real" bratwurst (and no chance of the occasional bone chip that I've definitely had (ick) in a real bratwurst, being an omnivore.)
