Best way to spend $300-500

If your wallet is leaning closer to the three bills goal then I'd seriously look at the Rumble 100; at $400 the Rumble 200; or if you can drop the entire $500, you owe it to yourself to plug into the Rumble 500.

You can still use it at home for practice (headphone out/mp3 in), but also for band rehearsals and gigs, especially if you add an extension cab. It's definitely a best buy at a dollar per watt!

Dude! The much-loved and sadly discontinued Genz Benz Contour 115 combo amp is $349 shipped at ProAudioStar. http://www.talkbass.com/threads/just-bought-a-genz-benz-contour-500-series-ctr500-115t.1051390/

No affiliation. I ordered one today after corresponding with a TB brother and reading the relevant threads. For example:

Good luck with your decision. And stay away from CL unless you like living dangerously...JMHO of course.

Having owned and gigged a fender combo, I strongly recommend considering one. I would play through all of your options if possible with the bass you are using.

Certain brands work better with different basses, some amps have issues. Be patient and make sure you are 100% pleased or take it back (or dont buy in the first place)

That CL cab looks a bit "iffy". If you go the combo route, I would focus on something that will accommodate an extension cab, as you might need it someday! The Rumble 500 would be a very good choice. It get's a lot of love on here, and is very light. Another great choice is the Genz Benz Contour. Incredible bang for the buck closeout pricing of about $360 delivered! Carvin also does a somewhat similar affordable.combo.
This is the ticket .

Again, yepper.

Hey Guys I have a question,

Have any of you in the Rumble Club tried stacking 2 or3 Rumble 115 cabinets with an amp on top to see how it sounds or does anyone do that for their gigs? I'm looking at doing that with my amp, especially since the rumble 115's are lightweight. And how well do the 115's carry the "B" string?

You could get a new fender rumble. If it were me I would scour guitar centers used gear. Try and find a Gallien Krueger 400rb and any pro used cab you can find. Should be able to find a hartke 410xl or maybe a road worn Goliath. This was yesterday's pro gear that will easily fall in your budget today. You will also have a return policy so in all it's a reasonable safe deal if going used.
