Best: 1) Develop the hand strength and dexterity to grip the neck like a "claw" (like John Entwistle) so all four fingers are spread out and usable.
2) "10-inch speakers are where it's at - I've never heard a punchy 15" (debatable I know, but I'd previously and naively thought "bigger is better")

Worst: Bass players should NEVER solo.
