Better paint

I was going to have a local airbrush artist paint a bass for me. He would use Automotive clear coat instead of lacquer. This guy does some crazy stuff tho. And the design I am working on is perfect for this guy to do.

So would Automotive Clear be good on a bass, let alone an instrument?

Automotive clear coat is fine for instruments. Just don't use that cheese Refinisher's Select cr@p.
