How can I get a better timing?
I've been playing for 15 years and it's still not good enough.
I practice with and without a metronome, drum machine, record myself. I tried the metronome on the 2 and 4. I tried drums method ect...

Is there anything I can do or I'm a lost cause and I just need to accept it the way it is?

    Play with a real drummer
  3. Try playing in the dark more often, but other than that... if it's been 15 years and you still have no rhythm, I don't know what to tell you :(

Are your lines too busy? Try very simple lines. Roots only.

Can you hum the line in time?
  5. ooo that's an excellent suggestion. I was never entirely sure if I could play "the heckler" perfect until I could hum it with the muted hits.
