Better Tracking on whammy

Does anyone know if adding a preamp pedal or active pickups will result in better bass note tracking on the WH-4?

Some kind of boost before the Whammy seems to help a little. Specifically those with a boost around 60hz, I believe. All the details are in the Molten Voltage thread. Hit the search up.
