Between a P/J and a J - Which Gets Flats

If you had these two basses:

- early 80's Fender Jazz Special
- 2011 Squier Vintage Modified Jazz

which one would get flats??

For classic rock.

Good question. You could make a case for either, but if it were me, sheesh...what the hell WOULD I do?

My natural inclination would be to put the flats on the PJ as not all flats sound good on a J.

P + Flats = Sound of Classic Rock.

I'd toss a set of GHS CM3050 Precision Flats on your Fender Jazz Special. As for your Squier VM Jazz, as set of GHS hex core Bass Boomers will give you the grunt; growl, and brutality for the roundround side of Classic Rock.
