Does anyone know anything else about the re-release of the Sea Machine? Is this something I should be waiting for or is it safe to go with something else for now? I've had my eye out for a chorus pedal and was about to bite until I heard this.

I'd go with the Sea Machine, but that's because I already have a polytope.which covers the detune w/o modulation.
I've owned both. I kept the Tech 21 BBC. The Sea Machine, while very cool, just wasn't the sound I was looking for...
I heard from someone at EQD in the middle of October that it would be out "in a month or so." So any day now, maybe? Maybe they'll wait for NAMM at this point. The word is smaller box, new art, 2nd LED for rate, but otherwise essentially the same. I suspect the same layout as the Afterneath/Organizer.
I ended up ordering the Tech 21. I like the way it sounds and am happy.
Excellent pedal, small and well-made, the x-over and flanger switches are interesting features. I owned one for a few months, liked the way it sounded, but found it a tad too subtle, even with the intensity knob maxed. The effect was better felt with the flanger switch on, but that's not an effect I usually go to or have a use for. So I went back to the Stereo Chorus.
I think I just figured out what I'm getting Santa to get me this year. Even if it is a little "DELAYED" gift to myself. The Tech 21 looks like the best band for the buck. Was looking at that new MarkBass Chorus Flanger, but I really hate digital presets. And at almost twice the price of the Tech 21, not really worth the pain for me. But the Tech 21 seems to have enough control to make it the bomb on my bass rig.

Did it... does just what I need. Polytune, Markbass Compressor, Ashdown Octave Distortion, and the Tech 21 Bass Chorus. All mounted on a Pedal Train Mini.
I love chorus pedals and have a Sea Machine, Tech 21 and the MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe (among others). The Sea Machine and MXR are always on my pedal board. The Sea Machine is the most versatile of the three, but it can get really crazy really fast. As was already mentioned, it takes a bit of time to find what you're looking for. The Tech 21 has some neat features, but overall I like the chorus sounds less than the Sea Machine. Still a very solid chorus. I've found the Sea Machine can be a bit of a pain in the butt with active basses, which is why I usually use the MXR when I'm running an active bass. The MXR is the least flexible of the 3 and requires the least knob-fiddling. It's solid, sounds good and is easy on the wallet. I'll often use it with the Sea Machine to give my signal a little more funkiness. IMO, you can't go wrong with any of them, but the Sea Machine is my favorite of the three.
Do you guys notice a big difference between using your chorus in the effects loop v.s. straight into the amp? I like my tech 21 but I think it sounds way better through the effects loop in the back.

I tried the Effects Loop on my Demeter HPB1 and did not notice any difference. By the way. I also have a smaller Pedal Train that I patch in if I want to do a little experimenting. Ibanez SB7 Bass Synth, EH Small Stone, and a Boss Loop Station for fun. But since it is on a small board, it doesn't all need to go to a gig.
