BFD Cabs - Recommend a builder

Hey Folks,

So I've been researching BFD cabs and I think I'd like to try out an Omni 15 TB. I understand the Omni builds are relatively easy but I have zero wood working skills and no tools. For my first BFD cab I'd like to have someone who knows what they are doing build it. If I have to have more BFD cabs, I'll pick up some skills and tools then :-).

The BF site has a list of builders and I'm sure they can all build BFD cabs. I'm just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for builders. The BF forums are full of info but they don't have much in the way of builder reviews. Probably because almost all the people there build the cabs themselves.

So any info on builders would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't know where you are located. Bill's suggestion is to select one of the authorized builders listed on his site that is located near you to save on shipping. Personally, I can recommend Leland Crooks in Parson, KS. He built a nice system for me this year.

There's no substitute for experience, and the guys listed on my site have it. The construction methods and materials for my cabs are quite different from what your average cab builder is used to, and if you go to someone who uses 'traditional' methods you might not care for the result.
I wouldn't bother shopping amongst them, long distance shipping charges will kill you. Pick whomever is closest to you.

Thank you for your reply Mr. Fitzmaurice. Please forgive me if the answer to this question is obvious, but will you build BFD cabs for customers?

I didn't see anything on your site that says you build the cabs but I just wanted to double check with you.

Thanks.

Could I suggest you fill in your profile so that people can make more helpful suggestions? Thanks.

It's not the most effective of your time or other members' time if you ask for suggestions and then they respond without even knowing which hemisphere you live in.

;)
