Does anyone use Bias FX2 and if so are all of the bass amps unlocked with the standard edition? is there any advantage for someone using it only for bass to pay for the Pro or Elite product other than more fx, inclusion of the looper etc?

Bias FX 2 - which edition for bass use only

I use Bias FX2 on both Mac and on iOS (iPad). There is very little that’s unlocked for bass with the standard version. There is one bass amp only. The bass amps and bass-specific effects start to unlock once you go up the tiers. You need Elite to unlock all of them. My advice is to wait for a sale (Positive Grid seem to have these frequently) then upgrade when the price drops. This is what I did to get to Elite... it was at least 50% off the full price from memory. TBH, while I think the bass amps are OK, they’re not much better than alternatives such as the Overloud Markbass plugin (my preferred native plugin these days) or the amp sims that come with GarageBand/Logic (if you’re on Mac). The effects are alright but not as good as dedicated effect plugins. That said, it is still pretty good fun playing around with a virtual pedalboard. It’s worth upgrading Bias FX2 in a sale but at full price, I’m not so sure. IMO, YMMV etc.
I have an iPad so I was debating between getting it for that or for my windows desktop, or both. Ive been using NI guitar rig 5 (through Ableton) on my desktop, but it has limited presets and only one bass amp. I have messed a little with Amplitude and ToneStack 3 on the iPad, but I havent messed with garage band much, i will check it out. I'm really more of a drummer getting back into playing bass and trying to get some more virtual options to keep me from running out and buying a bunch of expensive physical gear The ios version does seem like a better deal at less than half the sale price of the desktop version.

I think they put Helix and Amplitube to shame
Tempted to go Elite
Mark Studio 2 is my preferred amp sim
I use my NU>X MG30 for wet/dry routing
The MG30 has excellent bass models that I like to blend with vsts

Bias FX has a free trial on many things. Have you given it a trial?

I did a deep dive into NAM a few months ago.
Didn't fit my workflow
I checked ToneX/A5 again. The selection is getting better for a playback only, capture luddite like myself.
A5 is pretty good, but the DB750 is horrific. ToneX is better if spotty.
I still think the Bias FX 2 bass amps are clean, nicely representative, with great tone stack modeling.
I just upgraded my iPad to the new Air and had to get a new iRig interface for it, which works very well. I don't use the standalone very often but it works well when I use it. I still have the old Bias where you can play along to music tracks and I like this amp sims as well.
